contiki european highlights SANTA CRUZ
contiki european highlights in SANTA CRUZ.From heathrow to the hotel.
One of the negatives about the trip was that when we arrived in heathrow, we had been told by our travel agent that there would be a complementary shuttle from the airport to our hotel.
This was not the case.
The shuttle cost quite a bit of money.
It was a little nerve racking to be put in a questionable situation at first, but it proved to be a good thing.
The hotel was close and after we were settled, we were able to use the pass we bought to travel around london and sight see before our contiki meeting.
Tour manager, driver, the people, etc.
When we arrived in london, we met our tour guide and our driver.
They were very nice and got all of necessary information right from the beginning.
We were told when to meet at the bus the next morning and basically had the rest of the night to explore london.
Our tour manager, ryan, was awesome.
We were always on schedule and arrived to our destinations when he said we would.
He was time effiecient and very friendly.
He also printed out these funny and helpful brochures about what was worth seeing depending on your traveling style and also gave us full maps.
The people we met on the tour were amazing!
Most were from australia and new zealand, and extremely friendly.
Plus, we all shared a common love of partying!
I feel as if the group we traveled with just perfect!
Partying is definitely something that is prevelant on this tour.
With our group anyways.
We would be up most of the night until about 45 am, and then leave on the bus at about 7:30 am.
They give you the opportunity to get more sleep and prepare for the new location and another night of partying.
You always have the option to stay in and sleep.
The contiki stopovers usually have their own bar.
This can be a dangerous time for your wallet.
Extra excursions i recieved a full list of the excursions and how much they cost before i even went on the tour.
The list was included in the tour package they send you before your trip.
Our guide also went through and told us in detail what they would include and what we could expect when the tour actually started.
He also gave us some of his personal opinions on them.
Here are my opinions on the excursions since i did all, but 2.
Parisian dinnerthis was our first night to really get dressed up and go out as a group.
The dinner was decent and i even tried escargot.
It was a fun experience.
Nouvelle evethis followed the parisian dinner.
It was a cabaret show and even though it was kind of low budget, this was one of my favorite things on the trip.
Every table was given two bottles of champagne and the show was enjoyable.
I had a blast.
Souvenir group photothey take an entire group photo with florence in the background.
Tuscan mealthe food was amazing!
I have never enjoyed food so much in my life.
The atmosphere was fun and did i mention that the food was incredible?
Guided imperial touri wish i had skipped this excursion.
You get a tour through the roman forum and the colosseum.
Gondola ridethe ride was beautiful and we got champagne.
Swarovski crystal worldit was a cheap excursion and really cool on the inside.
Plus, it gave you the opportunity to do some good shopping.
Bavarian beerhallhands down, my favorite night of the tour.
The beerhall was so much fun and the food was great.
Sea palace restaurantthis was the last dinner in amsterdam.
Sex showthis excursion is not in the booklet.
Our tour guide told us about this excursion as we were on route to amsterdam.
Those who were interested could sign up and then pay for it.
I got it and in no way did it ruin my trip.
The stop over in rome was the worst, but not dramatically.
It was a little trailer park of sorts and the trailers were extremely small.
However, it had a fun bar.
